Christensen's Modern Music Monthly

“Published in the interest of Christensen Students everywhere,” Christensen’s Modern Music Monthly is a short-lived resurrection of Axel W. Christensen’s publishing ventures. Previously, Christensen published Christensen’s Ragtime Review between December 1914 and March 1916, which continued as The Ragtime Review until 1918 when it was incorporated into Walter Jacobs’s Melody in Boston.

This single issue contains 8 pages, beginning with a call to “every Christensen student in America” to enter a songwriting contest and “break into the popular song writing field.” As in his previous publications, Christensen addresses his readers in a brief introductory letter. This letter is followed by testimonials from Christensen teachers, a personal endorsement for Kimball pianos, and “The Q&A Column '' by Robert Galeher. The last two pages list recent popular songs, and a full-page advertisement for music engraving.
