Disc'ribe

Disc’ribe, “A journal of discographical information,” was published in three annual issues between 1980 and 1982. Produced and edited by David Wild, founder of the discographical publisher Wildmusic, the purpose of Disc’ribe was to supplement and update published discographies with new information. As Wild noted, discographies tended to become out of date quickly, with new and previously-unissued recordings and takes released, even after a musician’s death. As such, issue 1 contained updated discographical information on John Coltrane, Ornette Coleman, and Wes Montgomery. Issue 2 was devoted to Miles Davis and issue 3 focused on Coleman and Thelonious Monk.
