Floy Floy
- Place of Publication: Chicago, IL
- Language: English
- Date of Publication: 1938
- Periodicity: Single issue
- Type: Full Text
A single four page issue, dated 10 December 1938, is all that appears to exist for this typescript and hand-drawn Chicago publication. The title references the song by Slim Galliard, Slam Stewart, and Bud Green, ”Flat Foot Floogie (with a Floy Floy),” also published in 1938. (Although ”Floy Floy” referred to a venereal disease, it’s not clear if the unnamed persons behind Floy Floy were aware of this.) Subtitled “Chicago’s Swingiest Magazine,” Floy Floy basically served as a promotional publication for swing dance in general, and a specific dance also held on 10 December 1938, featuring the Eddie Chase Orchestra.
