Jazz Discounter

The Jazz Discounter was a monthly, typescript publication for and by record collectors. Each issue contained three principal sections: Records Wanted, listings of records desired by subscribers and readers; Records for Sale, listed from individuals and record shops; and articles, generally containing research on lesser-known musicians, often found in early jazz recordings. Edited by Roy Morser and Lester D. Wharton, other contributors included Joseph Madison, Barney Crosby, John Liquori, and Walter C. Allen. Although RIPM’s copy is missing the first five issues, which could not be located, the editors note that these issues contained lists only; articles were only introduced in issue 6.
