Jazz Digest

Two issues of Jazz Digest were published in January and March of 1956. A project of the editors, Fradley Garner and David B. Bittan, the focus was on Philadelphia: performances at the Music City Swing Club, Philadelphia-born musicians on the scene such as Dizzy Gillespie, and the development of a “Philadelphia” school of jazz, highlighted by the Sandole brothers (Dennis and Adolph), around the time of the release of their album Modern Music from Philadelphia.
