Jazz New England was published and edited by Dennis Burke; from issue 5 Fred Bouchard also served as editor. Eight issues in total appear to have been published. Documenting jazz activities largely in Massachusetts, Connecticut, New Hampshire, Maine, and Rhode Island, activities at local clubs, hotels, and on the radio are discussed. Festivals – such as the Newport Jazz Festival – are a fixture of the annual schedule. The large number of colleges and universities throughout the region are regularly discussed under the “Jazz on Campus” rubric; records and performances are reviewed and discussed. Regular contributors include Don Bacon, C. Panagiotakos, James Cameron, Joel Schwelling, and Lee Jeske.
