Jazzette was a short-lived, four issue publication of the Beacon Jazz League in Boston. Published in November 1944 and monthly between January and March 1945, the Beacon Jazz League sought to advance jazz knowledge and activities for its members. Published by Merrill A. Maynard, and edited by George G. Brown, Jr., Edward Heartz, and Paul Greenberg, Jazzette provided reviews of concerts, news on jazz in Boston, record reviews, and definitional articles. From the editors, the journal was short-lived owing to the general apathy of Boston jazz fans.
