Published generally on a monthly basis, Platter Chatter was devoted to the interests of record purchasers and listeners. Unlike other similar publications which were devoted to record collectors, here the focus was on recent recordings. Published and edited by W. C. Boswell and the Boswell Company, each issue features articles and small news items on musicians, musical news, trends, and recording information, along with a significant record review column. Some articles and recording reviews concern classical music. Although published in Seattle, Platter Chatter focused on Hollywood and New York.
