The Ragtime Review

The Ragtime Review, “published in the interest of classic ragtime,” was the effort of the editor and publisher Trebor Tichenor (1940-2014). Serving to connect and disseminate information on ragtime to the growing number of persons then interested in the historic genre—before the “ragtime revival” of the 1970s—, issues contain Tichenor’s analysis of rags, short articles on historical topics, and much information on the growing ragtime scene predominantly in the United States and Canada. A pianist, Tichenor was an authority on Scott Joplin and a collector of piano rolls, an educator and active in the St. Louis area.
