All-American Band Leaders

The first in a series of magazines devoted to big band leaders and ensembles, All-American Band Leaders began in April 1942 and published five issues on a quarterly basis. Edited by Esther van Sciver with art edited by George A. Weaver, each issue contains some 36 pages comprising some twelve to twenty feature articles and many additional vignettes of band leaders, singers, radio personalities, and musicians. Most articles have a attention-grabbing headline (often punctuated with an exclamation mark) and contain personal stories and human interest content. After publishing five issues, the magazine was retitled as simply Band Leaders
