Subtitled as “The Song and Dance Periodical,” Bandwagon produced a single issue dated January 1939 before changing titles to Bandmagazine. Edited by Bob Maxwell, both titles were published by Trojan Publishing Corporation, a mass-market publisher. The cover features the singers Nan Wynn and Bobby Gibson dancing, surrounded by prominent band leaders. Profiles of popular big band leaders, musicians, and singers appear throughout, accompanied by copious photography, some of the cheesecake variety (such as the Bandwagon “Sing and Swim” contest). A page on the “Duchin Shag” was contributed by well-known dance instructor Arthur Murray; a small number of records were reviewed.
